Welcome to the Pittsburgh Pain Consortium's First Annual Pain Day!

We're excited to have you join us for a day focused on the latest developments in pain science and research. Throughout the event, you’ll have the chance to hear from experts in the field and engage with a variety of exciting new findings, including presentations of abstracts. It’s a great opportunity to connect, learn, and explore the future of pain research together. Thank you for being part of this important day! Below, you will find the form to register and, if you will be presenting your research, to submit your abstract.

Important Information

Please note that even if you plan to attend Pain Day but will not be presenting an abstract, you still need to complete the form below. The form will guide you through the necessary steps and give you the option to indicate whether or not you plan to submit an abstract.

The deadline to register and submit an abstract is 11:59 pm, April 6, 2025.

Abstract Submission Instructions

The abstract body should be a brief summary of your original research written as a single paragraph in English.

It is acceptable to present work you have previously presented at recent meetings.

1. The abstract should include:

  • An abstract title with the first letter of each word capitalized and the full title bold-faced (limited to 25 words)
  • Names of the authors (the presenting author listed in bold)
  • Institutional affiliations for each author
  • An abstract body limited to 400 words.
  • Funding support
  • Disclosures

2. The abstract body must include:

  • An introduction and hypothesis
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

3. Use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Other abbreviations and acronyms should be fully spelled out on the first mention.
4. It is the author’s responsibility to submit abstracts without errors in spelling or grammar.
5. The Pain Day committee will not consider abstracts that do not follow the proper format.
6. Posters will be printed by the presenter and fit onto a 4 ft high x 6 ft wide board.

Presenting authors are expected to be at their posters during the judged portion of the poster session, which is scheduled for the afternoon of Pain Day 2025 (details to follow).
